Jaclyn Goldman is a staff therapist at the Depression and Anxiety Specialty Clinic of Chicago. She graduated with a Master of Social Work from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, with a specific concentration in clinical social work. Previously, she studied Health and Human Services and Child Development during her undergraduate years at Vanderbilt University.
Ms. Goldman has several years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. Prior to joining DASC, she worked at a private practice, providing outpatient counseling to children, adolescents, and young adults presenting with anxiety, depression, OCD, and other mood disorders. Additionally, Ms. Goldman has both individual and group therapy experience working at a hospital outpatient clinic, residential facility, and agency centered around trauma and adoption services.
Ms. Goldman approaches all of her clinical work with warmth, humor, and openness. She believes that the foundation for effective treatment lies in building deep connections with clients. Moreover, Ms. Goldman employs an integrative, strengths-based approach in order to motivate clients to attain their goals and to live a life in accordance with their values. Ms. Goldman utilizes a variety of evidence-based modalities with her clients, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP). Currently, she leads an adult DBT skills group and teen expressive therapy group at DASC.
