Danielle Levy Walsh is a staff therapist at the Depression and Anxiety Specialty Clinic of Chicago. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University with a dual degree in Human & Organizational Development and Child Development. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration, with a concentration in clinical practice.
Ms. Walsh has several years of experience working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings. Prior to joining DASC, Ms. Walsh worked with adolescents providing counseling and sexual health services. She has experience with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and interpersonal problems. She has also provided brief couples and family counseling.
Through her previous career as a Change Management Consultant, Ms. Walsh is uniquely experienced in drawing out internal motivations and developing concrete steps to achieve a client’s goals. Ms. Walsh relies on the clients’ strengths and motivations in session, and takes a collaborative approach to therapy. She pulls from many evidence-based theoretical frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
